Description: |
OSRAM SYLVANIA is part of the global OSRAM organization. This position will have a greater than 50% probability of delegation to our OSRAM Opto Semiconductors location in Regensburg, Germany. Spend up to approximately one year on a solid-state research assignment of OSRAM SYLVANIA and OSRAM Opto Semiconductors in Germany. Become part of the foundation of solid-state research in the NAFTA region.
Specifically, conduct pulsed laser / electron deposition studies. Be the materials science and analysis expert for thin film deposition science. Demonstrate inorganic coatings applied to solid-state devices (e.g., LEDs) and other lighting components (e.g., ceramics). Collaborate with luminescent materials colleagues to create unique coatings. Be familiar with, able to operate and maintain, state-of-the-art pulsed laser deposition equipment.
Work individually and as a team member on research projects. Support business units as needed. Exhibit entrepreneurial spirit in applying coating science to lighting products.
BS + 6 years of relevant experience or MS and 4+ years, or PhD in Materials Science or Engineering. Demonstrated coatings deposition work is required. Thorough understanding of laser and vacuum science as related to deposition chamber work. Ability to work in the United States and Germany.
