Description: |
Our client is a German manufacturer of finished products and worldwide leader in its industry. They employ 9,000+ people world-wide and are very stable and growing significantly. They are seeking an outstanding Director, Manufacturing Engineering to lead their 200 person strong Engineering department consisting of four different divisions at their U.S. HQ. This role is part of the strategic leadership team and our client is only willing to hire the best of the best.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Through research and analysis of advanced technology, automation and mechanization, develops and recommends proposals to innovate improved manufacturing methods and procedures, machinery, tooling, etc., directed at reduction of manufacturing costs to achieve profit, goals, and marketing objectives.
• Oversees and participates in the development and execution of engineering studies and analyses designed to delineate work processes, technology, and other production input requirements that maximize production output and quality and support overall profit objectives.
• Represents the department at planning and other regular management meetings to provide assistance and recommendations to resolve engineering and technical problems.
• Participates in the research, development, and design of long-range strategic objectives. Works with other departmental managers in the laying out and planning of potential future operational changes.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Master’s strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years in an engineering leadership role in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Excellent personnel management, leadership and communication skills.
• Experience working with a combination of the following disciplines:
1) Engine components, including pistons, crankshafts, flywheels, carburetors, cylinders and ignition modules.
2) Metal stampings
3) Tooling
4) Engineering design
• Solid work history
• Computer Proficient, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• German language skills strongly desired
