Who's News in USA
(in cooperation with @GermanSolarJobs on Twitter)
Hopewell Junction, USA (12/27/2010). Andrew Wilson
, President/CEO and Co-founder of SpectraWatt, will receive Solar-Jobs.com's (virtual) "Solar Industry HR Lemon of the Year". Two days before Christmas, the U.S.-based manufacturer of crystalline silicon solar cells, a spin-off from Intel, announced that it will lay off more than 100 workers, and close its upstate New York plant.
Blame it on the "harsher-than-usual European winter" (according to the Wall Street Journal, referencing a news release), or "the change in the solar industry in Germany" (as solar industry news site www.solarnovus.com would have it) - whatever it was, it doesn't explain the awful timing of the announcement.
