, CEO of SULFURCELL Solartechnik GmbH , has announced the initiation of US operations. Berlin, Germany-based Sulfurcell is a leading provider of CIS-based thin-film solar power modules. The privately held company was founded in 2001 as a spin-off from the Helmholtz Center for Materials and Energy in Berlin, and utilizes technology developed at the Hahn-Meitner Institute in Berlin, where CIS solar cells were developed during the 1990s. Sulfurcell’s North American operations will be run out of new offices in Los Angeles, CA.
